Soundchip to offer leading 3D spatial sound technology for passenger entertainment

Leading 3D spatial sound technology from Illusonic to complement Soundchip’s HD-PA® solutions for passenger entertainment

Aircraft Interiors Exhibition, Hamburg, Germany, 27 March 2012 – Soundchip SA, a Swiss based innovator in audio systems technology and originator of the High Definition Personal Audio (HD-PA) Reference, today announced that it is partnering with Illusonic GmbH, a global leader in spatial sound processing, to integrate a proprietary version of their 3D Spatial Sound Technology in new HD-PA compliant audio solutions designed for passenger entertainment.

Illusonic 3D Spatial Sound Technology renders an enthralling binaural sound experience from stereo, matrix encoded, and 5.1 channel media and unlike other less capable virtual surround solutions can separate sound content into different components to create an authentic sound stage without timbral and temporal artifacts.
